Eric Clapton — European Rock Concert Dates (Apr 26–May 17, 2026)

Eric Clapton Tickets

From his revolutionizing days with Cream to his decades of solo artistry, seeing Clapton play live remains a transcendent experience. His 2026 European tour offers yet another opportunity to witness the brilliance of a guitar maestro. Whether you're a longtime fan who has followed his musical journey from the Yardbirds to the band Derek and the Dominos or a newer admirer of classics like "Wonderful Tonight" or "Change the World," securing your place at any of these performances puts you right into the pages of history. The tentative timetable suggests April and May performances in numerous European cities, with early confirmations at premier venues.

The arena format offers the chance to put on an extended show, which in this case will allow musicians as gifted as Eric Clapton to run nearly the entirety of their career, across five decades, in the course of a night. There's also the experience of a backing band of virtuoso musicians every bit his creative equal. Expect two hours of guitar mastery. The witnessing of guitar mastery of this caliber in person imparts an intangible quality. No matter how pristine, studio recordings cannot fully contain the live improvisational brilliance and the spontaneous genius of the artist at work. The connection between performer and audience allows music to happen in a very real way. This is especially true in the context of the great playing and poignant acoustic moments that were a hallmark of recent Royal Albert Hall concerts. Performances of "Tears in Heaven" and "Layla" have taken on an almost sacred atmosphere. The formerly electric "Layla" played on acoustic guitar serves to demonstrate the power of music to speak to the depths of the human experience in a subtle, yet powerful way.

Eric Clapton Biography

Born in Surrey, England, this performer's journey from modest means to international fame is the definitive rock and roll narrative. Early gigs with the Yardbirds and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers made him the most high-profile member of that year's British blues boom. Not for nothing was London's graffiti enhanced with "Clapton is God" at the time. Forming Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker only took him higher, as the superstar guitarist ushered in the unprecedented era of the extended rock jam, such as "Sunshine of Your Love." Clapton later worked with Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominos before embarking on a solo career: 18 U.S. and nine U.K. top-ten albums, tens of millions sold.

Eric Clapton Greatest Hits

Layla

The iconic double album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs," by Derek and the Dominos, was released in 1970. Its title track has a guitar riff that is one of the most recognizable in classic rock. The album came into being during one of many psychic breakdowns that Eric was undergoing. He was in love with a woman who was married to someone else. The very personal and enthralling desperation that he felt at the time is in the music, and fuel for fantastic trio jam performances turned in by the members of Dominos.

Slowhand

The aptly named "Slowhand," released in 1977, is the album that introduced songs like "Cocaine" and the nearly legendary "Wonderful Tonight," both of which are done in concert all the time. Also on "Slowhand" is "Lay Down Sally." Written by Clapton, "Lay Down Sally" introduced well and ruled the whole Southern North American radio market. These traditional numbers bridge a direct connection between current audiences and the formative moments in blues history.
